Breaking: GRTS Famara Fofana Resigns



Gambia Radio & Television Services' (GRTS ) Famara Fofana  has resigned from his position.
Until his resignation, Famara is one of the best reporters/producers ever to be employed by the state broadcaster.
The reason for his departure is not immediately made clear but sources indicated that it could be related to the in situation's current unprofessional and bias operations against the will of Gambian taxpayers.

 Famara Fofana is a writer and journalist with The Gambia Radio and Television Services GRTS. Having  started his career as an announcer/rookie reporter with the national broadcaster in late 2007.
In 2009, a very young Famara Fofana awarded  the first ever Reporter of the year award initiated by the then Department of state for Communication, Information Technology of The Gambia. After several years of news reporting, he became the producer and presenter of a weekly youth program called 'Limelight' which focused on the strides being made by highly interposing youth as well as the challenges confronting young people at the time.
Famara also enhanced his reputation as a leading news anchor at GRTS for some years. Now a Senior Producer and a news editor at the News and current Affairs Department of GRTS, Famara Fofana is a studen at the School of Journalism and Digital Media. Through his fledgling media outfit called Aspire Communications, he offers voluntary media clinics to press clubs in the county.
In addition to his background as a trained film maker and community development practitioner, Famara Fofana has attended different professional training programs including an international course on Parliamentary Reporting at the Accra_based Ghana Institute of journalism, and Media and Conflict Reporting at the Cairo Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution in Egypt. To this day, he remains an active contributor for the Daily Observer and Standard Newspapers engaging in social commentary and creative writing. Famara is also on the verge of releasing his first major literary work entitled "When my Village was my Village"
