The former Secretary General of Gambia National Olympic Committee Mr Abdoulie Jallow have been nominated as member of Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) as member of Legislation and Governance Commision.
I
am happy and honoured to have been appointed by ANOCA to serve in such a
prestigious committee with highly experienced personalities.
In
working to enhancing Good Governance in the sporting landscape in the
continent, The Gambia stands to be the biggest beneficiary tapping from
my expertise and the experience gained from my colleagues to identify
opportunities that would create structures to promote sports Jallow
says.
He continues
"Even before this appointment my working relationship with the current
board in this short time has been exceptional.
In
fact, one of my assignments for them is to work on a Governance
framework for the GNOC and it stakeholders. My role in this Commission
can only enhance this assignment and others. However, the commission’s
work is for all member NOC’s but the GNOC will have me on the ground if
needed for guidance and support.
Let
me take this opportunity to thank the President and secretary General
of ANOCA for the confidence they have in me to serve in this commission.
It shows the Gambia is making positive strides in making its ways in
sports administration within the continent Mr Jallow stated.
